Architecture Concept

Will this be real? While waiting for it, we can appreciate the project’s renderings. Snøhetta designed Europe’s first underwater restaurant at the southernmost point of the Norwegian coastline. Five meters below the sea level.

It is designed as an environment-friendly monolith that will change over time, through its interaction with local marine flora and fauna. It will also host a research center for marine life, and tell visitors the story about marine biodiversity and the Norwegian coast. The building accommodates 80-100 guests, and is made of meter-thick concrete walls and massive acrylic windows. The structure should withstand pressure and shock from the rugged sea conditions.
