The second Coachella weekend starts today. Being one of the most talked and profitable music festivals in the world, its large-scale art installations are a must-see. This year’s guest artists are Chiaiozza, Olalekan Jeyifous, Joanne Tatham and Tom O’Sullivan and Gustavo Prado. All of them created gigantic pieces that serve as an energetic boost to the party. Terri Chiao and Adam Frezza are the minds behind the “Chiaiozza Garden” an immersive ecosystem of colored organic statues, while Joanne and Tom combined graphic design and large scale elements to create “beasts-without-identity”. Brazilian artist Gustavo Prado tangles the festival-goers with reflective mirrors that give an “illusion of fixed identity”, and Brooklyn-based Olalekan talks to the soul representing the “relationship of the terrestrial to the sublime”.
