Norwegian designer Benjamin Valand created the internet tower, an installation that reflects and represents the amount of information that is taken from us. “When you are browsing the web, advertisers collect information about you, and each second they collect around 1.5 megabytes” he explains. “1.5 megabytes is almost the same as taking a good, high quality photo with your smartphone, every second. From the 1.5 megabytes, only 0.5% is usable information”. With his project, he tries to visualize this concept with a furniture piece. The tall commode represents 1.5 megabytes, and the small drawer represents 0.5% of the total 1.5 megabytes.
