The Emoji art project combines art, architecture and photography with some of our favorite emojis, creating hilarious collages that dignify these everyday ideograms. We can see Hokusai’s Kanagawa wave on the background of an old house in the Alps, or David Lynch’s portrait by Nadav Kander, surfed by a pink board. The glass roof of the MART Museum in Rovereto, in Italy, is a perfect spot for a selfie and Anselm Kiefer’s monumental installation in Milan holds a little chair lift, suspended between two towers. All pieces can be purchased, printed and framed, taking emojis to the status of art.
