On the occasion of the 2015 edition of Salone del Mobile, Studiolabo presents a preview of the documentary “Design Capital”: a tale of Milan and its territory through the people, the institutions, the events and the products that—every year, for seven days—turn the city into the world’s capital of design.
A cinematic account marked by the opinions of the influential designers (Ron Gilad, Marten Baas), the international magazines (Wallpaper*, coolhunting) and the local companies (Cappellini, Kartell) that wrote the history of design and of Milan. A visual journey that also collects the testimonies of the reporters that comes to town to document the design week, as well as the ideas, ambitions and desires of those whose only intention is to fully live the fun, frenzy and fantasy of Fuorisalone.
These multiple voices—wove together by the moving images of the most innovative products and most spectacular installations—gradually shape the story of an “infinite city”, in which the urban environment merges with the culture of design, becoming the center of the world, for a week at least..
The documentary “Design Capital” (52min) is an independent project by Studiolabo, realized in collaboration with Andrea Cuman, Massimiliano Fraticelli, and Patrick Saccò—who is also the Director.
